New user Posts: 1 | 2008 Campaign: Let’s place 60,000 flowers in remembrance of Terror victims for Israel’s 60 birthday Please read, place a flower and forward Terror victims Remembrance campaign 2008 - Israel’s 60th birthday Place a virtual flower on a terror victim’s commemoration site at www.ezy.co.il This year, on Wednesday May 7th, Israel’s memorial day, we will remember the Israelis fallen in the long battle for the existence of the state and for our right to a normal, sane and peaceful life in this small piece of land we call home. We will remember the soldiers fallen in wars and battles and also the civilians and children fallen in busses coming back from school, in restaurants dining with their families, and in the streets going to shop or to visit friends. On the next day, May 8th, we will celebrate the 60th Independence Day of the State of Israel. The mixture of remembrance and mourning with happiness and hope symbolizes the life we live in Israel day after day. On March 5th 2003, my son Asaf, almost seventeen years old, nicknamed by his friends Blondi (www.Blondi.co.il), came back from school riding a city bus. A suicide murderer exploded on the bus killing seventeen men, women and children. Nine of them were school children on their way home from school – including Asaf. Shortly after Asaf's death, I started looking and learning how Israel and Israelis commemorate their fallen dear ones. Terror didn’t start in year 2000. The Israeli Arab conflict has cost the lives of many Jews during the last 100 years, and these are commemorated in many ways. I documented hundreds of commemoration sites, and created a web site that lists the sites in Israel, from as early as 1913, and all the way to today, after the second Lebanon war. Each site has its own web page, text explaining the event, and pictures from the commemoration site. I ask all of you getting this letter to participate in this remembrance campaign. Enter the web site, find a place you know or want to see, search for a commemoration, read about it and look at it. Then at the bottom of the web page, place a virtual flower on the memorial. Let’s get to the 60th Independence Day celebrations with 60,000 flowers laid by people from all over the world on fallen terror victims' commemoration sites. Let’s make the crossing from remembrance to celebration the biggest ever and let’s stand there for a moment, remembering those that are not with us to celebrate. The Hebrew version web site is www.ezy.co.il, clicking on “English” will take you to the English version of the web site. For direct access to the English version click http://www.ezy.co.il/index_eng.asp By clicking the ‘search’ button on the top you can search for an attack place (free text search) or search for a commemoration by city or area (from a list of values) and even by range of dates. Some noticeable commemorations are: Playground in memory of two youngsters from bus 37 - http://www.ezy.co.il/memoSite_eng.asp?memorial_id=10 Double attack at Beit Lid junction - http://www.ezy.co.il/memoSite_eng.asp?memorial_id=162 Jerusalem bus attack on Mexico Street - http://www.ezy.co.il/memoSite_eng.asp?memorial_id=312 Yossi Zur, Asaf’s father Yossi@Blondi.co.il Asaf’s memorial web site - www.Blondi.co.il Israel’s terror victim’s commemorations – www.ezy.co.il

Extreme Veteran Posts: 504 ![]() | Since the year Two Thousand Israel has suffered over 8,000 casualties (deaths and injuries) due to terrorist attacks. The Population of the United States is 43 times greater than that of Israel. (Three Hundred Million vs. Seven Million) If United States casualties, due to terror, were proportionately equal to Israel, the United States would have suffered deaths and casualties of 344,000 between the years 2000 and 2006. We not need ask ourselves twice what the United States would do if over three hundred thousand Americans were killed or injured by terrorists. And, indeed, we need not question why Israelis are prepared to forcefully defend themselves against attacks of terrorists and the countries that defend and support them, and call for her death Never Forget….Never Again http://www.newspapercollections.com/zion.htm

The US needs to stop meddling in (controlling) Israel's affairs. Whether he stands a chance or not (and I think he does), the truth stands and should be supported.

New user Posts: 2 | What do you think of Obadiah Shoher's views on the Middle East conflict? One can argue, of course, that Shoher is ultra-right, but his followers are far from being a marginal group. Also, he rejects Jewish moralistic reasoning - that's alone is highly unusual for the Israeli right. And he is very influential here in Israel. So what do you think?

Extreme Veteran Posts: 504 ![]() | Obadiah Shoher is a name rarely heard of, or read of, in mainstream media in the United States. Certainly, political scholars and government security agencies are familiar with Shoher and his conflict resolution proposals. I see Israel as being much like the United States. A powerful giant, who precisely because of their overwhelming power, tie their own hands and shekel their own legs so they will not commit the unpardonable act of winning at any cost. Shoher’s book, Samson Blinded, is inappropriately titled. It conveys the picture of a powerful entity that cannot see and therefore cannot act. The truth, though, is that both Israel and the U.S. CAN SEE and it is the seeing that constrains them both. Could the U.S. have wiped North Viet Nam off the face of the earth? Could the U.S. not turn Iraq into a wasteland? Of course it could and can. Can Israel initiate a nuclear or biological attack upon the Palestinians or any Arab nation as Shoher advocates? Of course it can. But, as giants, both are constrained. I am reminded of a quote by William Shakespere: World and historic condemnation is still a powerful deterrent to giants acting like giants. A nuclear attack by Israel, unless in self defense, would turn the world forever against Israel and Judaism. That would be the price of victory. Victory, at any cost, is not a victory at all. In the case of Israel it would be the grave in which Judaism would be buried.

The Jewish People aren't murders and we don't use terror to gain new ground. If I walk up the sidewalk every day and kick the dog the dog is going to leave or bite back. If I lived within rocket range of Gaza or the West Bank, I would build a stronger house, but I would make plans so the next time I would be able to bite back. If a tank comes rolling through your town you will hear it coming for miles, but if a mosquito fly's by you may never notice. Don't you think the best way to stop a riot with a notable leader is to use a mosquito?

Elite Veteran Posts: 764 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: The Last Outpost | I'm just putting this here because it is what would happen the day the government were to tell us they are taking over and shutting down this country. Our military is not strong enough to take on the people of the U.S., most of the soldiers we have would site with the people, and if they didn't it would be a shame because there are as many people in this country that would put up a fight. The thing the U.S. has to worry about is that the people would revolt over the economy as food, gas, insurance and poor services from this cheep government get worse, we have to worry about another attack like 9-11, on us. Just remember there are just as many of us that would put up a fight as there are in the countries that the U.S. has attacked. Any one that has actually seen the battle fields with peoples lives blown all over it would find they would be as much an animal as the attacker, we are human! What is wrong with change we as Jews need to think about the day that Hashem, puts us back in the land of Israel, just the mere numbers alone should push a camel jockey back to where ever. Fear drives our enemies. They fear us because we can and when we get tired of the camel busters shooting a couple of rockets at us we would push the into a salty sea where they cry out for mercy from the scars they have put on themselves through all the years of attacking Israel, and Jews. Populations have tried over the centuries and the Jewish People have survived, it is time to stop this parting of our faith our people and put it all to one. Hmm we'll need more land if that happens I'm stopping now I have a board meeting and I have to go get my Kippa, for intimidation!

Veteran Posts: 155 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Another kind of Terrorist attack: A serious blow was dealt to the Jewish-evangelical alliance with the publication in Friday's New York Times of a full page ad by the World Evangelical Alliance - representing hundreds of evangelical Churches, organizations, and leaders, some being among the most prominent in the country - affirming their intention to proselytize Jews. The ad said, "The most loving and Scriptural expression of our friendship toward Jewish people, and to anyone we call friend, is to forthrightly share the love of G-d in the person of Jesus Christ.... We recognize that it is good and right for those with specialized knowledge, history, and skills to use these gifts to introduce individuals to the Messiah, and that includes those ministries specifically directed to the Jewish people."

Elite Veteran Posts: 764 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: The Last Outpost | It's been awhile now since I started looking for my father's family only to find many changed their names so they didn't look so Jewish. I'm not sure why and the way I am I really don't care because I will go out of my way to make sure people know I AM JEWISH. Many of the name changes were do to people not understanding the language or not hear a person correct when the records written. Many had letters changed or dropped even spelt wrong. This person that kept coming up as a mistake in spelling is the person listed below. Now I don't really know if it is a mistake but the name alone really hits home. The most common misspelling was the last letter in the name. My last name is Baumer, but I have seen (DNA) family members spell it Baumen or Baumet or Baumel, and if this family is anything like mine I understand why he was in Israel. THIS IS THE NEWS! The Battle of Sultan Yakoub! On June 11, 1982, five Israeli soldiers went missing in a battle with Syrian and Palestinian forces near the Lebanese village of Sultan Yaqub. Several years later, two of the captured soldiers were returned to Israel in prisoner exchanges with Syria and Achmed Jibril's PFLP-GC (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command). Three soldiers -- Zachary Baumel, Yehuda Katz, and Tzvi Feldman -- are still missing. Zachary Baumel is an AMERICAN citizen. He has been held by the Syrian government since he was 21 years old. Member Posts: 32 ![]() | Intimidation works inishally -but in the event one has no stratagy for follow-up, one who has understanding may challenge such intimidation. Still, i ask.. & yes I would like to participate - in whatever capasity i am able.. yet isn't our responcibility to recover our heritage More of a priority then countering here on foreign soil? On the other hand, Sheba wrote: QUOTE: ...World Evangelical Alliance - representing hundreds of evangelical Churches, organizations, and leaders, some being among the most prominent in the country - affirming their intention to proselytize Jews... Personally my feeling on this matter is that a Hebrew heritage is most honorable. Perhaps to teach our children this inishally would safegaurd. If there is substance in the home stability will follow- which, i believe is the strength of most Jewish familys. '''''''''''```````````````````''''''''''' Not long ago, in conversation with a neighbor regarding g-vernment terr-r I was enlightened by his personal experience. As a CEO he had hired women to do men's work putting divide between the workers. While the women were willing to work harder then the men, this putting the men off brought about the kind of competition that put the CEO over while leaving the workers with littile for compensation. THIS was the kind of tactic which I noticed the first Clinton used in office. The point is, as long as there is riff raff among the ranks -Polo-tics (Politics) continue to siphon out the life-blood of its' citizens without their realizing what's happening. Member Posts: 25 ![]() Location: Tel Aviv, Israel | We remember these people every moment of the day. We can not go to sleep at night without remembrance. This morning was one of those days mostly sunny and a nice cool breeze. We had a call there was shooting out of Gaza, people were down. The Hamas shoot up the fuel station and their people will be without again. We need to dozzzz the whole strip into a widerow and burn out the garbage. We need to stop talking about it and just get rid of the rats like the vermin they are. The world needs to quit crying for the PA, they are as big a problem as the rest of those raggs. There will never be peace as long as they are around. Now I have had a beautiful sunset and it is cool enough to sleep, its going to be hot tomorrow. There will be more killing and it again will be another day in Israel. Lehitraot bekarvo, Micahel
