Who
teaches your at-home classes?
Our teachers are all volunteers who want to
share their knowledge of Judaism. Some are
rabbinical students and some are laymen and
women whose expertise comes from their own
schooling and experience. |
| |
|
 |
Will
someone actually come to my home no matter
where I live?
We have a wide network of volunteers throughout
the country. This enables us to accommodate
most requests. In some instances, we may have
to set you up with a telephone-learning partner. |
| |
|
 |
What
if I don’t feel comfortable inviting
a teacher into my home?
We also offer the option of telephone learning.
Contact us and we will set you up with a
teacher who will learn with you by phone
at a time that is convenient for you. |
| |
|
 |
How
much time will the class take?
You can arrange it to suit your schedule.
You can make it once a week, once every
other week, for a half-hour, a full hour,
or even for ten minutes by phone. |

I
went to Hebrew school and found it boring.
How is this any different?
First of all, we’ll teach you a topic
of your choosing. Secondly, we teach you
on a sophisticated adult level. You’ll
find that a lot has changed since you were
10. |
| |
|
 |
Do
I have to know Hebrew?
Not at all. If you want to learn Hebrew,
we can teach you. But if you’re more
interested in content, there are many excellent
English language books to use, ranging from
prayer books to commentaries to Jewish law,
history and philosophy. |
| |
|
 |
Will
I be asked to join or purchase anything?
Absolutely not. Our offer is not a “come-on”
for any commercial or charitable purpose.
It’s a straight, no-strings-attached
effort to open the world of Jewish wisdom
to more Jewish people. |

|
 |
Can
I invite friends or family to come to my class?
Please feel free to invite others to participate. |
